Popular will keep your money that a title company overpays them to pay off a mortgage. We sold own home on 5//11/2018 and Popular has still not gotten my refund check to me! They said it is my fault for not changing my address with them. Like any normal person, we used the US Postal Service forwarding to our new address and all of our mail has been forwarded. They told me after I have called them 8+ times on this issue that I needed to mail them a letter and sign it stating my new address for them to review. The bank rep, even seeing the history of me calling numerous times on this issue, still would not change my address, even though I went through their 5 minute authentication process, which I did every time I called. They have money that is mine, not theirs and they are the most difficult organization I have ever dealt with. Stay away unless you enjoy the big bank run-around where 1,000s of employees do not know what the others are doing!
