Membership Eligibility

ECCU serves employees of the greater educational community (and their families) in 21 counties in Michigan: Allegan, Barry, Berrien, Branch, Calhoun, Cass, Clinton, Eaton, Gratiot, Hillsdale, Ingham, Ionia, Jackson, Kalamazoo, Kent, Montcalm, Muskegon, Newaygo, Ottawa, St. Joseph, and Van Buren.

We are proud to serve the educational employees of public and private schools, volunteers, retirees, students and alumni of educational institutions, and other related educational organizations such as libraries and Parent Teacher Associations.

Additionally, ECCU membership is available to: family members of current ECCU members in the counties we serve; the teaching hospitals of Bronson Methodist Hospital and Borgess Medical Center; retirees living in a county we serve and who receive a retirement payment; employees, pensioners and appointed or elected officials of governmental organizations who live in the counties of Allegan and Van Buren.

Plus non-educational businesses/hospitals/other select employer groups (located within 25 miles of any ECCU office) may also apply to offer ECCU's many benefits to their employees.
