Sorry service
Absolutely crap company they’ll charge you ridiculous fees freeze your account totally incompetent stay away
absolutely horrific
The best thing about BCU is getting your paycheck 1 day earlier. There is no point in risking anything else, you will be screwed if you open your accounts here.
I've only had excellent experiences with BCU. I learned of them through my employer UnitedHealth Group and have closed my accounts with a major bank due to the benefits of BCU, namely because they operate more fairly. The customer service is excellent. If you need to visit your branch all the time, and no one really needs to do that in this time of technological advances, very rarely, if ever, then this may not work as the branches are far between. I don't mind, the pros outweigh the cons. Giving 9 stars, appreciative it's a credit union and NOT on every corner yet lacking one star due to I haven't experienced every service they provide. Thanks!
I have been with BCU since before it was BCU (it was AHSC originally) so I've been with them 30+ years. If I could add up all the minutes I've ever spent on hold over those 30+ years, it wouldn't equal the amount of time I've spent on hold with them just today alone. That is what has happened to customer service at BCU in the past year. But, that's not the worst of it. I have a credit card that is active, and I cannot see it on my online banking account because of a glitch they've known about ever since they "improved" their website. I'm told it will take as much as 48 hours to be able to check my credit card activity online because of this glitch. Can you imagine having an active card and not being able to see activity on that card? For as long as 2 days? So in addition to not being able to get anyone to talk to you without a ridiculously long wait on hold, once you do reach a person, that person cannot give you any answers. There is no explanation for this situation I find myself in other than "there is a glitch in the system since we went to the new website". This is NOT what gives you the confidence you need from your banker! Really - a glitch!? I hate changing credit unions after all these years, but looks like they leave me no option. I am a remote customer so it's not like I can go to a location and get this handled - probably wouldn't help anyway. There was a time when anything could be handled online or over the phone. No longer. I will miss the old BCU.
I have been working with banks and financial institutions for every 40 years. I recently purchased a car that is financed by BCU. The service is awful and their ability to correct their records is abysmal. Avoid at all costs.
Rarely do I find myself taking the initiative to write a review, but I must share my experience with Baxter Credit Union. I am in the banking industry and feel I have a good understanding what good bank/credit union customer service should look like. My wife and I opened deposit accounts (checking and savings) with Baxter due to my wife's employment with United Health Group. Receiving 2% on the checking account is nice and is the only reason I have continued to stay with Baxter. However, I have had extremely poor experiences with Baxter when I needed to open additional accounts for our son.
In short, I would NOT recommend Baxter Credit Union.
The only reason I even know this Credit Union exists, is because I was recently sent a welcome e-mail and account number that belonged to a complete stranger. Avoid.
Very rude and as slow as they could be.
What are qualifications for membership
Why is BCU web site down on Sunday 10/01/17
In Illinois I have found them to be helpful and easy to work with.
Trying to get anyone to help has been a traumatic experience. Do not use this credit union find another financial institution as soon as possible.
They are horrible. The worst to bank with. Not willing to help of work with you. Move to a different credit union as soon as you can.
