We have established a Letter of Credit through Habib Metro Bank, Mereweather Tower Branch, Karachi, Pakistan (MPBLPKAA056) on July 20, 2017. This branch has informed us that it has sent all the details to its corresponding bank Habib American Bank, New York, USA (HANYUS33XXX) the same day.

But it is very surprising that till the writing of this email, the status of Letter of Credit transmission to the beneficiary bank in USA is not traceable. Branch Staff at Karachi/Pakistan are drawing blank without any logical response.

My question is that how long does it take for transmitting L/C details within your system to the beneficiary bank where all the inputs (Swift Code, ABA Routing Number, Address etc.) have duly been provided.

If you care to reply and assist me in resolving my issue, I can give you Letter of Credit Reference Number for necessary scrutiny at your end.

Zahid Yusuf
