Description: Elite universities are hallowed institutions. Getting into one of these universities is what many or most aspiring high school students would like. However, their combination of history, massive endowments and alumnii support, and high requirements for personal achievement make gettinginto of of these universities an unlikely proposition for most except the most talented students, athletes, and connected alumnii. We recommend students targeting an elite school to have a sports background, especially if they can play at the division 1 level, exceptional test scores and extracurriculars, exceptional recommendations and alumnii connections. This is the cream-of-the-crop. Usually the economic outcomes for elite unversity graduates are excellent, with many majors exceeding 100000 a year in base pay. Many elite universities send a significant portion of their graduates into prestigious or well-paying jobs like software engineering, consulting, finance, medicine, or law. However, not all is always bright for elite univerisities. While most elite universities have excellent financial aid programs, they usually own some of the highest tuition and attendance costs in the country, making it very difficult to attend without a significant amount of debt or money spent.Usually these institutions number around 8-10 of the top universities.
